Transcription of video clip Horsechesnut (Aesculus)

Back to video clip

It is truly majestic, this horsechesnut tree! It is said to come from India, but in reality it originated in Constantinople through France. In bloom, its pyramidal inflorescences seem placed on a giant candlestick. In fall, loaded with conkers, seeds covered by green husks bristling with spines, it waits for the sure coming of squirrels. But these animals have their work cut out for them in order to pull out the glossy nut from its problematic envelope. A touchy proposition!
