Of all the collections in the Arboretum, only one undergoes such a dramatic metamorphosis during the first few days of spring weather: the collection of lilacs. To wander, in late May and early June, among the hundreds of fragrant shrubs and smell their many scents, gives me a unique euphoric sensation that I only experience there, at that time of year.

For me, as for thousands of the Botanical Garden's visitors, the collection of lilacs is the greatest show you can see in Montreal.
