Glossary - Bipolar molecule

Molecule whose electrons' charges are distributed asymmetrically: a small negative surcharge is in the negative pole, while a deficit of negative charges creates a small positive surcharge on the side of the positive pole.

For example, the water molecule is bipolar, the asymmetry of charges being created by the oxygen (negatively charged) and hydrogen (positive charge).
